The recent Annual General Meeting of FACTOR (The Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings) saw the departure of three members of the Board of Directors. Specifically, Steve Kennedy, Charlotte Bell and Aubrey Winfield.
Newly appointed Directors were Wendy Duff of Rogers Broadcasting, Brian Hetherman from the Music Managers Forum and Nicole Jolly of FLOW 93.5 FM.
As a graduate of the Broadcasting Radio Program at Fanshawe College, Wendy Duff began her career as a live board operator at 1050 CHUM. Twelve years later, she found herself as Program Director for CHUM’s CIDR-FM in her hometown of Windsor Ontario. In 2005, she was hired by Rogers Broadcasting on a 6 month contract as Program Director for CHFI in Toronto. Upon completion of her contract, Rogers offered Wendy the position of Program Director for CHYM-FM Kitchener where she currently sits today.
In 1990 Brian Hetherman became a Retail Marketing and Sales Rep for MCA Records. He later moved into the position of Radio Promotion and Marketing Rep where he promoted artists such as Guns N Roses, Peter Gabriel, The Tragically Hip and Elton John to radio. In ’95 he became the Director of A & R for MCA and head of MCA Music Publishing. Following his tenure at MCA Records, Brian became President of Cerberus Artist Management and Curve Music.
With a degree from McGill and the London School of Economics, Nicole Jolly’s career has seen her work internationally for clients in the oil and gas, retail, finance and automotive industries. At present, Nicole is responsible for overseeing daily operations at FLOW 93.5 and leads the station's external marketing initiatives.
In the spirit of ensuring Board rotation, a new by-law was adopted in 2007 that limits Board Members to three two year terms.
FACTOR is proud to have such accomplished individuals join their Board of Directors and looks forward to their contributions in the coming months.
