Resources
This resource section offers a comprehensive collection of resources to assist you as you submit your FACTOR application.
Applicant resources
The Accessibility Support Fund helps applicants hire service providers to help them overcome any disability-related barriers within the FACTOR application process and their project funding.
Applicants may be eligible for funding to assist with any or all of the following processes:
- creating a User Profile and submitting an Applicant and Artist Profile in the FACTOR portal
- completing and submitting an application
- completing and submitting a completion for an approved project
Up to $500 is available per applicant, per FACTOR fiscal year (April 1 – March 31). Funding is available for applicants who self-identify as having disabilities—including physical, sensory, mental, intellectual, and learning disabilities—and require additional support in the application process as a result. Applicants should contact FACTOR at least six weeks before you plan to apply, and, if applicable, six weeks before a program deadline.
How the fund works:
-
Contact your assigned Project Coordinator, Program Administrator, or our general information address (info@factor.ca, or toll free at 877-696-2215 ext. 200) to discuss the request.
-
You will be asked to provide the following information: the type of assistance requested (profiles, application, or completion), who you will hire as a service provider (note: they cannot be a related party), and the amount you are requesting.
-
If you do not already have an assigned Project Coordinator, one will be assigned to you. If you are eligible for Application Accessibility Support Funding, your Project Coordinator will confirm FACTOR’s contribution within five business days.
-
You must enter into a written contract with the service provider that specifies the services to be provided, their timing, and their cost. FACTOR does not provide advice on service providers or facilitate agreements.
-
The service provider must send an invoice for up to $500 to your Project Coordinator. This invoice must be made out to FACTOR and must reference the work that was done for you. Your Project Coordinator will arrange a direct deposit payment to the service provider once the work has been completed.

FACTOR will allow applications in this fund for up to $5,000 each fiscal year, not to exceed $5,000 per project. Eligible costs claimed under this fund will be reimbursed at 100%. This fund is open to artists and staff of music companies associated with the project Artist or Applicant. Support for this fund is provided exclusively by Canada’s Private Radio Broadcasters.
Eligible costs include but are not limited to: costs to make approved project activities accessible for the Applicant, equipment rental, support worker to assist with approved project activities, sign language interpretation, a guide or visual describer, converting material into accessible formats.
Ineligible costs include but are not limited to: supports and services required for day-to-day living and activities not directly related to the funded project, capital costs (e.g. purchasing equipment), costs supported by other public funders.
Recipients may submit their request at any point after accepting FACTOR’s offer of funding for their project. We strongly encourage interested applicants to discuss potential costs with their Project Coordinator in advance. Advances may be available.
