FACTOR has created a new observer position on its Board of Directors, titled Diversity and Inclusion Observer. This position represents FACTOR’s Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee that was formed in 2019. Kwende Kefentse, currently the Cultural Industries Development Officer at the City of Ottawa, has been appointed as the first Diversity and Inclusion Observer. Kwende’s role will be to channel the voices and leverage the knowledge of the committee to help FACTOR develop its decision, program and policy making process through a series of lenses that prioritize the inclusion of diverse people, places and ways of being in the music industry.
