Black History Month: Janette King

Caribbean-Canadian alt-R&B artist Janette King earned acclaim with What We Lost, performing at major festivals and opening for Cupcakke, Sudan Archives, and Jamila Woods. She co-wrote on Gayance’s Polaris-shortlisted Mascarade and evolved with 2024’s soul-infused Incantation released with Birthday Cake Records. Now, she’s crafting a 2026 project exploring how memory and music are intertwined.
