Saskmusic Indigenous artist-curated playlists

In honour of National Indigenous History Month 2026 (NIHM 2026), SaskMusic presents nistam athisthiniwak osihchikīwiniwāwa (First Peoples Creating), showcasing Indigenous voices and stories through music.

Four artist-curated playlists have been created for NIHM 2026:

Vada Mae Boyer (they/she) is a 2S person with mixed Métis, Cree, and settler origins, and the vocalist for Saskatoon-based Indigipunk band, dead ex girlfriends.

Dakota Favel is an award-winning Indigenous singer-songwriter, motivational speaker, master of ceremonies, and community voice from Ile-a-la-Crosse, Saskatchewan, now based in Prince Albert.

LILI, nehiyaw iskwew, indie pop musician, singer and guitarist hailing from Sturgeon Lake First Nation, SK

Raven Reid is a Saskatchewan-based singer-songwriter, storyteller, speaker, and music educator known for her raw honesty and powerful storytelling. Blending folk, roots, country, blues, and Americana influences, Raven’s music explores themes of healing, resilience, identity, and survival.
