Artist Development Program

The Artist Development program offers a $2,000 subsidy toward one year of artist development activities including sound recording, touring & showcasing, video production, marketing and promotion.

Collective Initiatives

The Collective Initiatives program is comprised of four components that, singly or in combination, help finance music industry events, showcases and productions that have a collective benefit for the Canadian music industry.

Comprehensive Artist

The Comprehensive Artist program contributes toward the cost of acquiring, producing and marketing a full-length album.

Comprehensive Music Company

The Comprehensive Music Company contributes toward the cost of acquiring, producing and marketing a full-length album.

Juried Sound Recording

The Juried Sound Recording program contributes toward the cost of acquiring, producing and marketing a full-length album. Submissions are assessed by an independent jury of music industry professionals.

Live Performance

The Live Performance program subsidizes the cost of domestic and international performances including showcases and tours.

Marketing and Promotion for Non-FACTOR-Funded Sound Recordings

This program supports the marketing of commercially released full-length sound recordings that were not acquired or produced with FACTOR funding. The sound recording must have been commercially released and achieved a qualifying sales threshold or had a track charting on commercial radio.

Songwriter’s Workshop

The Songwriter’s Workshop program helps professional songwriters pay for the cost of attending domestic and international songwriting workshops and seminars on the craft and business of songwriting.

Sponsorship

The Sponsorship program allows FACTOR to support worthy music-related projects and events that are looking for a smaller amount of support, or that do not quite fit other program mandates. New and genre-specific music festivals, broadcaster conferences, workshops, industry association events, and international showcases are examples of projects that FACTOR has been proud to support over the years.

NOTE: Applications must be submitted at least at least three months prior to the start date of the event.

Support for Eligible Music Companies

The Support for Eligible Music Companies program provides funding for
business development initiatives. 
 Deadlines:
 -Round 1 – April 26, 2018
 -Round 2 – September 27, 2018

Video

The Video program contributes to the cost of producing music videos for eligible Canadian sound recordings by artists rated 2 and 3

Business Travel (Retired – See SEMC for new applications)

The Business Travel program contributes to the cost of participating in domestic and international music industry conferences and events, as well as business trips for the company’s general market development.
