Being nominated: I was with my daughter getting ready for school that morning, but I knew when the announcements were going to be happening. We jumped online right away. it would have been eight o’clock in the morning, my time, and made our way through the list. And then saw my name.  It feels incredible especially because this is my first nomination, although I’ve been a musician for a long time. I’ve been working really hard for a long time, o this is extra sweet.

FACTOR’s importance: FACTOR has been instrumental in my trajectory, not just with this album. The significant funding that I did receive from FACTOR, I truly believe made a huge difference in the success of the record, not just in the money that we received to record it, but all of the follow-up for promotion videos. Those are the things that once the project is complete need to be looked at in order to give it life.
