Billianne

July 2025 Newsletter Artist Spotlight

Compared to "a young Adele" by Rolling Stone, Canadian singer-songwriter Billianne has emerged as one of the most captivating new voices in folk-pop.

FACTOR

Story

Hailing from Milton, Ontario, Billianne first gained international attention when her cover of Tina Turner’s “The Best” went viral on TikTok – with her performance earning nods from Taylor Swift, The Lumineers, P!nk, Joe Jonas, and even Oprah.

Since then, Billianne has transitioned from viral sensation to fully formed artist, amassing over 100 million streams. Lacing melancholic daydreams and romantic voyeurism with an eagerness to overflow into the big city, she meditates on the different ways you can arrive at being yourself.

She’s appeared on COLOURS, NBC’s TODAY Show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, CBS Saturday Morning, and BBC Radio 1. She’s also toured extensively across Canada, the US, Europe, and the UK – supporting artists such as KT Tunstall, Julia Jacklin, Alexander Stewart, and Amber Run – with international festival performances at Osheaga, Ottawa Bluesfest, The Great Escape, and more.

With the support of FACTOR funding, Billianne accessed the resources to collaborate with top producers, create compelling visuals, and build a team around her growing career.

“FACTOR gave me the support to turn my ideas into something real, it helped me bring this music to life and reach people far beyond what I imagined.”

Her debut album, Modes of  Transportation, (released August 15, 2025) charts her journey of growth, longing, and self-discovery – and FACTOR has been a vital part of that path.
