Caity Gyorgy

The support Caity Gyorgy received from FACTOR for her album Caity Gyorgy with Strings: Arranged and Conducted by Mark Limacher helped her to create her most ambitious project to date – an entirely original vocal jazz album with a 40-piece studio orchestra. Caity Gyorgy with Strings received both a 2026 JUNO Award nomination and a 2026 Western Canadian Music Award nomination. The album was featured in the SOCAN Magazine, The Calgary Herald, UK Jazz News, CBC Q, and was a Disque du Jour for TSFJazz. The album also received reviews in The New York City Jazz Record, The Syncopated Times, The Whole Note, and more.

The album was supported across digital streaming platforms with editorial playlist adds on Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Qobuz. During the release rollout, Caity was invited to take over the Pandora Standards/Vocal Jazz playlist, where she was made the cover and provided recorded commentary on the songs she chose for the playlist.

In addition to the media recognition, the release of this album has created opportunities for live performances of the material with both jazz and chamber orchestras across the continent. After its release, the music from this album was played on tour across the United States at venues like Dizzy’s Club at Jazz at Lincoln Centre, the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal, the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Northern Lights Festival (Ajijic, Mexico) and at The Winspear with the Edmonton Jazz Orchestra and Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.

Creating this album has given me the opportunity and freedom to tour and share my music to audiences in many different ways – from jazz quartet, to string quartet, to full-on orchestra – I am now able to tour both nationally and internationally with ensembles of all different shapes and sizes, there is no limit, and now I have the albums and numbers to prove it.”
